My youngest son is starting to walk a little — two or three steps, then he goes back to crawling. When he's near something to hold onto, he barely uses it—just out of habit. Without support, he can only manage a few steps. After a while, they usually realize that walking on their own feet is easier and more comfortable. 😄 I don’t remember exactly how it was with the older one.
