What is written at the end of the screening?

It's strange that I was sent to the support center, yet I wasn't given any explanation. Could you please clarify what happened?

Regarding the term "box" — it's likely just a term used to describe a specific part of the brain or structure in the fetus's head seen on ultrasound. In most cases, it's nothing to be worried about or critical. Sometimes, doctors use such terms to describe visual features, but that doesn't necessarily indicate a problem. It's best to wait for a full examination to understand everything more clearly — not much time remains. The most important thing is that everything else is developing well, and that already means a lot.

Google says there's no specific term to describe the brain. What did they write in the ultrasound conclusion?

I understand that a 'korobochka' is part of the skull. Why does it take a week to send it instead of sending it immediately? That's my question.

Arina The brain does not have a specific structure called a 'box.' The term 'box' usually refers to a dry, multi-seeded fruit of plants that opens upon ripening. In the context of brain anatomy, it might refer to the cerebral cortex, which has gyri and sulci forming a folded structure that, in a simplified view, could resemble a box. It could also refer to the cerebellum, which has a characteristic folded appearance that might also be likened to a 'box.' A more precise answer depends on the context in which the term 'box' is used regarding the brain.

The only thing that comes to mind is the skull. But it's better to read the conclusion to see what is written there.

Lyubov It's the same.

I was thinking about the skull, but that's probably not it. If everything is fine with the baby and there's no issue with the skull, then it doesn't make sense... I think you mean something else.

Lena The queue is huge. I was suddenly assigned to someone else's spot because of an emergency, even though the wait time was over two months. 😔

Ekaterina If it were that easy, we wouldn't be talking about abortion, I believe.

Elizaveta So, what is written at the very end of the screening?

Lena Oh no, what I read is very upsetting. I hope it was just a mistake. Wishing good health to the little one.

The term 'anencephaly' is used when the upper part of the skull, which covers the brain area, is absent.
